The Forbes list of the 400 richest Americans lists The Donald’s worth at $4.5 billion.
Citing interviews with more than 80 sources and “devoting unprecedented resources to valuing a single fortune,” Forbes said in an article published Tuesday and appearing in its Oct. 19 issue that Trump’s net worth stands at $4.5 billion. In July, Trump put out a press release claiming that his net worth is “in excess of TEN BILLION DOLLARS.” (The all-caps was in the original.)…
Trump does not think the lower figure suits him well.
“I’m running for president,” Trump told the magazine in an interview that it says lasted almost two hours. “I’m worth much more than you have me down [for]. I don’t look good, to be honest. I mean, I look better if I’m worth $10 billion than if I’m worth $4 billion.”
In the same interview, Trump said that another “respected magazine that’s coming out” put his fortune at $11.5 billion.
“You’re gonna look bad,” he told Forbes. “And look, all I can say is Forbes is a bankrupt magazine, doesn’t know what they’re talking about. That’s all I’m gonna say. ‘Cause it’s embarrassing to me.
