At least one person was wounded when a shooter opened fire at the Roosevelt Field shopping mall on Long Island.

Police have shut down the mall, and some witnesses claim they were knocked to the ground and trampled as panicked shoppers fled the building.

“We have one individual shot,” said Thomas Krumpter, acting Nassau police commissioner. “We have one subject in custody.”

The shooting is being investigated as a possible robbery.
