They spoke for two years on Facebook, but had never met, and likely it’s a good thing they didn’t.
Brick Township Detective Robert Shepherd found Antonio J. Perez, 24, of Elkhart, Indiana, asleep in his car near a housing complex on Dec. 30, Detective Sgt. Henry Drew told NJ.com. Perez was on his way to meet his Facebook “girlfriend” of two years, who lives in the New Jersey community; they had never met in person before.
Upon searching Perez’s vehicle, police found he had four loaded weapons—a Sig Sauer P226 40-caliber handgun, a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver, a Smith & Wesson .357 revolver, and a WASR 10, an AK47 style automatic rifle—1,000 rounds of ammunition, a canister of pepper spray, and a gas mask, according to the department’s Facebook page.
It is unknown by police the exact relationship Perez and the woman share, NJ.com reports. They also do not know if she was expecting Perez, but she was found unharmed by police.
