Donald Trump Says Defending Clinton Over Lewinsky Was Only Lip Service

Some people will put anything in their mouths just to get ahead. I’m referring, of course, to Donald Trump, who now admits that his defense of former President Bill Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair was only, ahem, lip service.
Prior to this presidential campaign, Trump was of the opinion that Clinton’s impeachment over the extramarital affair was “nonsense,” as expressed in this 2008 interview with Wolf Blitzer:
“He lied! [Bush] got us into the war with lies! And, I mean, look at the trouble Bill Clinton got into with something that was totally unimportant, and they tried to impeach him, which was nonsense. And yet Bush got us into this horrible war with lies, by lying!”
