The daughter of an Illinois state rep and a co-worker in the campaign are accused of aggravated battery against the man running against her mom in a Democratic primary. The daughter’s attorney, Frank Avila, says he shouldn’t win, anyway, since he was beaten by a girl.

Illinois Rep. Cynthia Soto’s daughter and another campaign volunteer are accused of attacking aspiring politician Robert Zwolinski, who ran against Soto in the Democratic primary this week.

Jessica Soto and Bradley Fichter, both 26, are each charged with three felony counts of aggravated battery in connection with the assault on the 30-year-old man…

“If he’s going around saying a girl beat him up, that’s really sad too, especially a little 5’2″ girl. Maybe it’s good that he lost the race,” Avila said
