This is just what you want from a leading presidential candidate.

Donald Trump spokeswoman Katrina Piersonaffirmed on CNN this afternoon that the campaign has “total confidence” in Corey Lewandowski after he was charged with batteryfor grabbing Michelle Fields. She said he’s “absolutely” staying on as campaign manager.

She told Wolf Blitzer people get “smacked around” all the time at campaigns and people get hit and grabbed. Pierson insisted that Fields exaggerated what happened to her and said that she “wasn’t too concerned about the reaction initially.”

Pierson even said, “Perhaps campaigns––particularly presidential campaigns––should begin to change the rules of the type od access the press gets from now on.”
