Trump continues to claim Don King endorsement after King says no

Trump touted the Don King endorsement as if to prove he’s not racist. Then, King said he does not endorse Donald Trump. But Trump continues to brag about a King endorsement.
Don King, and so many other African Americans who know me well and endorsed me, would not have done so if they thought I was a racist!

King told the New York Daily News at Muhammad Ali’s funeral that he does not endorse Trump, saying he is “endorsing the people.”
“No,” King said to the Daily News. “I’m endorsing the people. I’m not a Republican or a Democrat, I’m a Republicrat, and I go with the will of the people. The only reason Trump exists is because of the will of the people.”
But, King did come to Trump’s defense saying he likes him and that he is not racist.
“I like Mr. Trump,” King told the Daily News. “He’s an idol of America. That’s shaded the way the media wants to shade it.”
Despite King’s comments in the Daily News, Trump continued to tout the supposed endorsement on his Twitter.
