It is looking more and more like Michael Cohen and the people with whom he interacted are going to be game show host Donald Trump’s undoing. The Wall Street Journal now reports

Allen Weisselberg, President Trump’s longtime financial gatekeeper, was granted immunity by federal prosecutors for providing information about Michael Cohen in the criminal investigation into hush-money payments for two women during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to people familiar with the matter.

Mr. Weisselberg was called to testify before a federal grand jury in the investigation earlier this year, The Wall Street Journal previously reported, citing people familiar with the investigation.

NBC News has confirmed that Weisselberg has been granted immunity and is Trump employee referred to as “executive one” in the information filed by federal prosecutors from the New York Southern District when Cohen pleaded guilty to eight charges associated with hush money payments intended to benefit the Trump presidential campaign just weeks before the 2016 election..
