The alleged Santa Barbara shooter, the son of a Hollywood director, said he was a virgin who would “slaughter” sorority girls.

A lawyer for Rodger’s father confirmed the son’s involvement to ABC News. The deranged gunman announced his plans for mass murder in a deeply disturbing seven-minute video.

“You denied me a happy life, and in turn I will deny all of your life,” the baby-faced Rodger says at one point before offering a chilling laugh. “It’s only fair. I hate all of you.

“If I had it in my power, I would stop at nothing to reduce every single one of you to mountains of skulls and rivers of blood, and rightfully so.”

So no one ever figured out this guy was dangerous?

      Folks did, yes:

      >So no one ever figured out this guy was dangerous?

“A lawyer says the family of a man they believe went on a shooting
rampage near a Santa Barbara, California, university called police
several weeks ago after being alarmed by YouTube videos “regarding
suicide and the killing of people.”

Just because you’re crazy doesn’t mean you shouldn’t own as many guns and as much ammo as you can get.
Who knows, THEY might be coming.

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”.

Mentally ill people are still part of “the people”. There’s nothing in the Constitution that prevents mass murdering crazies from owning all the guns they want.

That’s just one of the many reasons why the Second Amendment must be repealed.

It doesn’t need to be repealed–just enforced. The 2nd Amendment allows for regulation. The problem is the social disease of gunnuttery and the greed and shamelessness of the NRA and the gun manufacturers. They block any and all attempts at gun sanity in this nation by threatening to shoot anyone who tries. If they are women, they usually threaten them with rape too. Real classy guys.

Repeal the Second Amendment? Because criminals obey the law? And the solution, of course, is to remove the guns from the law abiding citizens. Yep, makes perfect sense to me. By the way, my fork made me fat, we should outlaw them too.

          • Foundryman May 24th, 2014 at 10:44 pm

Actually, it does make perfect sense. The second amendment was written when there were 4.5 million people including slaves in the country. It was written after the revolution to protect against a British invasion. To expect it to work today when there are 300, or 400 or 500 million is utterly ridiculous, especially since there is no one claiming to invade us, plus we do have a military just for that purpose.

Although no one is talking about removing guns from law abiding citizens, there is reason to regulate them more thoroughly. This is one more event proving that.
There are far to many nuts running around claiming they have some sort of right to endanger anyone they want. Most are to stupid to tie their shoes, yet they want to carry a loaded firearm anywhere like it’s the wild west or something. Or they think they have to protect themselves from a tyrannical government that only exists in their paranoid minds.

Repealing the 2nd amendment and replacing it with one that reflects today’s reality not only makes perfect sense but is more necessary everytime some idiot in the NRA opens his mouth.

Three people were killed with a knife AND he also ran over some people with his car. What about those deadly weapons?

          • Foundryman May 25th, 2014 at 12:41 pm

When technology allows a knife to become so deadly as one can kill a roomful of people in seconds like at Sandy Hook school, we can talk about knives. Last I looked, cars are not designed to kill, they are not sold as weapons, they are designed for transport. If someone wants to misuse a toothpick to kill they can, what is the point? Your point on cars is meaningless and ridiculous.
Ignoring the reality about guns by attempting to shift focus to mundane and ignorant talking points only adds to the reason why gun nuts need thoroughly regulated before more innocent people die.

          • John Tarter May 25th, 2014 at 7:52 am

He killed his first three victims with a knife, so it seems we need some more “knife control” laws, right? And how about the common thread that seems to be part and parcel of all these killings – the violent video games that these kids have been playing for years – perhaps it’s time these are eliminated from our society too.
