Clearly this is what the Second Amendment was created for. According to police, a fight over alcohol on Monday evening in Houston, Texas,  ended with a man dead, and both his wife and stepson shot in the head with freedom bullets. Investigators say that a man who had recently been released from jail first shot his wife in the head after she confronted him over his drinking. She reportedly played dead on the master bedroom floor, according to KHOU.

Police say that her 30-year-old son went outside to call 911. At that point, his stepfather shot him while he walked back inside the house.

Detectives said it appeared that the gunman then fatally shot himself.

According to nearby neighbors, they heard loud screaming coming from the house before the shooting.

“Because of the history and the conflict with them arguing all the time, this could happen,” Lalo Duran, one of the neighbors said.

Police said both the mother and son are expected to survive.

Holy moly. I guess the wife struck a nerve.

Just like yelling “Fire” in a crowded theater isn’t what the First Amendment was meant for by the founders.. This is considered against the law and would have been prosecuted as such if the individual had survived.

Oh I don’t know. There are so many ‘accidental’ shootings these days.

      • Jtoon July 1st, 2014 at 10:12 am

Unless I misunderstand, this story is an intentional shooting. I don’t understand where in my comment or the story there was the mentioning of an accidental shooting.

Many shootings are referred to as ‘accidental.’ You did say the law would have taken care of this if he had survived. I simply responded because this is a comment thread. Also, I’m totally evil.

          • Jtoon July 1st, 2014 at 10:25 am

Yea, the law would have taken care of this situation if he survived because it sounds like a criminal act. This doesn’t sound like an accidental shooting. I believe you need to reread the story.

So, what you’re saying is, I should reread what I wrote? Otay!

            Exactly.

Another Texas moron who uses a gun to try and “win” an argument. Guess he was “standing his ground”. Why was he out of jail?

Well, at least he made good on that shot. Hope the wife and daughter are gonna be okay.

And I’ll gladly stand up next to you
And kick you in the face

NRA’s man of the year, also he could get in invitation on the 700 Club because he believes in the sanctity of marriage.

Do you blame the man or the gun?? Anybody blame Ted Kennedy for Mary Jo’s death or do they blame the Lincoln he was driving??

    • TW July 6th, 2014 at 5:37 am

Both. With everybody having guns in the house these days…. add too much alcohol and an argument with the wife…….. I’ll just say if he didn’t have a gun handy during his drunken outrage, no one would’ve been shot. I’ve been married to alcoholics, having a gun in the house would’ve been a real bad idea.
